Ohhhh…alll very good books. I have most of them. :o)
I was surprised and delighted to see many overlaps with my collection. I’ll have to look into some of the ones I’m missing.
Peace,

Thank you for this list! I started my collection of Yoga literature in German (I’m from Austria) but since I’m travelling a lot and planning to do my TT in English, I’ve been starting to look for books in English… I found Desikachar’s “Heart of Yoga” and Kaminoff’s “Yoga Anatomy” here…
Needless to say I’m glued to the pages! Great books…
Thanx again!
Lily
Hello and thank you for this blog. Because you are a yoga practitioner, I thought I would let you know that yoga master Erich Schiffmann is in the new movie The Compass. I think you’ll like it.
Thanks for a great selection of book recommendations! I’d also like to add Susi Hately Aldous’ “the Art of Slowing Down” to the list of great reads.
Maria – That sounds like an outstanding book! I’ll definitely have to snag a copy and see if I can work on that elusive art. Thanks for stopping by!
I just left my recommendations link on your LibraryThing blog, but I’ll put it here too:

Thanks for the excellent list.
Holy heck! And I had no idea that you were the editor of Yoga in America. That really sounds like an interesting read and I bet it has some great stories about the history of yoga in America. Just haven’t been to the bookstore in a while…
Thanks you so much for this excellent selection of book recommendations.
thanks for giving out a list of books that yoga enthusiasts could read. It is very helpful
