“If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.” – Dalai Lama
“My message is the practice of compassion, love and kindness. These things are very useful in our daily life, and also for the whole of human society these practices can be very important.” – Dalai Lama
I just ran across a great article at Zen Habits with some excellent reminders for how we can live more kind and compassionate lives. I don’t really think I could say it much better than the guide does so I highly recommend heading over there for a bit of reading and pondering.
I really adore that photo of His Holiness~
and your blog today!
Namaste~
Thanks Tracy! It’s sort of hit and miss with the blog lately (I’m studying for the bar exam), but just looking at that picture helps me feel better about life.
Thanks for the photo and the link. The article is a wonderfully condensed set of practice reminders. You bless us all!
Wow…the article was fantastic! I want to copy that first part and post it on my own blog as a reminder….it makes a great affirmation! 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing it!
I too thank you for your compassion.
I believe those of us who blog with a message often provide compassion, whether we know it or not.
It can be a daily habit, can it not?

Hi Michael – Compassion encompasses and refines so many virtues that we simply can’t live a life of happiness without at least attempting to make it a habit. Thanks for the reminder!
